Setting up Email on iPhone


Here are the recommended settings for iPhone (as well as iPad and iPod Touch) for Online Institute hosting customers on our cPanel servers.

Note these instructions are for POP3 but to use IMAP simply select IMAP when creating the account and change the SSL-enabled incoming mailserver Port to 993. If you already created an email account, the only way to switch from POP to IMAP or vice-versa is to re-create the account in your email software.

Go to Settings
On the Settings screen, go to “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”
Select “Add Account”
Select “Other”
Select “Add Mail Account”
Enter the info requested and select “Next”
Select “POP3”
Host Name: host.oliserver.com
User Name: (username in format user+domain)
Password: (user’s password)

Use these settings for your Outgoing Mail Server:
SMTP (Outgoing Mail Server)
Host Name: host.oliserver.com
User Name: (username in format user+domain)
Password: (user’s password)

When done, in Settings -> “Mail, Contacts, Calendars.” select your mail account then go to “Account Info” and scroll down and go to “Advanced” and make sure Use SSL is “On” and under “Deleted Messages” set “Remove” to “Never”

If you need ports, use the following SSL POP3 Ports:
Incoming Port: 995
Outgoing (SMTP) Port: 465
